Coffee and alarm clocks

One we still desperately need to keep up with our bundle of energy and one we haven't used in months. I will let you figure out which is which since I am up this early on a Sunday morning (after cleaning up the house and making one of the items...oops, a bit of a clue).

On the weekends, Audrey and I take turns getting up with the little guy and let the other sleep in a bit. Part of the deal is also making coffee (damn, I told you the answer). Usually, he is quite content to lay and talk to his mobile above his crib while we get the house ready for a new day. This morning is no exception.

We think he is beginning to learn sounds equal words. He keeps saying something like 'hungry', but a lot more slurred, so it comes out like 'un-ga'. He could be trying to say 'unga'. He also screams something like 'hi' when he rolls over and sees one of us coming into the room. It's nice to have someone get so excited to see you, even when you just left to use the restroom for a moment. Unprecedented excitement, that is what being a baby is all about.

This is the last week before Christmas (lots of paper!). We are attending a wedding in SC - a mini vacation for us three - and then the in-laws arrive. The days will fly by, as they have been for the past six months. With that, we are going to put the tree up that we bought yesterday at the farmer's market (tip: go at the end of the day and buy the guys last tree, he will make you a deal). Luckily, being only six-months old, there will be no cralwing, grabbing, and falling trees this year. He did like the feel of it in his hand though.
